Homework at Knowl Hill CE Academy
Homework consists of a spelling unit and a maths unit. These units both support the current learning in school. Maths homework is sent home each fortnight on a Monday and due in the following Monday. Spelling homework is sent out on the Monday and the children will be tested on the words Friday (every week). Alongside this, children will be given a termly topic homework with a variety of activities for children to choose from to enrich their learning of their class topic. Our current termly topic homeworks can be found below.
Copies of up to date homework can be found on the class pages section of the website.
We believe that homework should be seen as a reinforcement activity. Your child should therefore be able to achieve their homework with a good level of independence.
We also believe homework can provide the opportunity for families to work together. Below are some of the topic projects produced by our clever, creative families!
Reading At Home
We have set a challenge for every child in the whole school. This challenge is for you (the child) to read at least four times a week for ten weeks in a full term. You must ask your parents to sign and date your reading record as proof you are reading at home. If you achieve this you will receive a reward for all your hardwork and success. So there is only one thing to do...Get Reading!
