School Car Park

A gentle reminder to parents and carers that the school car park is reserved for authorised staff and visitors who have received prior permission from Mrs Bourner. To help keep our pupils safe and ensure traffic moves smoothly during our busy drop-off and collection times, we kindly ask that you do not park in the school car park without permission. We really appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us maintain a safe and well-organised environment for everyone. Please make use of the kiss and drop facilities across the road. Thank you for your understanding and continued support!

Generosity

Our learning this week: 

English

In English, we finished writing our diary entries based on a favourite memory. We made sure we used lots of descriptive language and Year 5 grammar features to make our writing memorable and engaging for readers. 

Maths

In Maths, we began our unit on multiplication and division. We learnt to identify factors and multiples, as well as beginning to understand common multiples and factor pairs. 

Science

In Science, we continued exploring forces and this week investigated the effect that shape and surface area has on water resistance.

Guided Reading

In guided reading, we finished the book 'Goodnight Mister Tom'. We have loved reading this books as a class!

The Big Picture

In our topic lessons this week, we continued our unit on European Geography. We have explored the climate and rainfall in Europe, discussed features of Human and Physical Geography and also learnt about one of the longest rivers in Europe- The River Danube. We learnt the 10 countries this river flows through and found out where it starts and ends. 

RE

In RE, we began to think about our Big Question concerning religious and scientific views of the start of the world. We learnt about the Christian creation story and thought about we interpret the story in a literal or poetic way. 

Physical Education

In PE, we will be focusing on football and basketball skills this half-term.
