Rat catchers - Final outcomes - WC 1/12/25 - The children built rat catchers for the royal palace of King Henry VIII. They measured everything precisely and used cardboard, wooden skewers, lolly sticks and string. Eventually, they painted and decorated them.

DT - WC 24/11/25 - In DT, the children designed and made rat catchers using cardboard and wooden skewers, measuring accurately and assembling with hot glue guns. They will paint and decorate them next week.

Wintershall Nativity - 20/11/25 - The children took part in the Wintershall fun nativity journey where they learnt more about the meaning of the Christmas story.

Diwali - We celebrated Diwali, the festival that marks the power of light over darkness. The children created beautiful rangoli patterns using tissue paper to celebrate the occasion.

Heart dissection - 10/10/25 - In science, we carried out the heart dissection where children studied different parts of the heart, labelled them and enjoyed the hands-on activity. They managed to find the right and left atrium, right and left ventricles, and the aorta. They also discovered some heartstrings.

Judge visit - 9/10/25 - We were delighted to welcome two judges who visited our Year 5/6 to talk about their profession and the challenges they face in their work. The children listened carefully and asked many thoughtful questions which impressed our visitors.

Hook Court/ residential- 22nd - 24th September 2025 - The children thoroughly enjoyed their residential trip to Hook Court, specially the Tudor-themed activities they took part in such as pocket making, candle making, weaving, a banquet, Tudor dancing and more.

Immersion - 8/9/25 - During the Tudor era, necklaces were a sign of wealth often made from gold, pearls and gemstones. As part of their immersion activity, the children made their own necklaces creating simple, colourful pieces inspired by Tudor styles.

Immersion Day - 8/9/25 - The children created their own coats of arms. During the Tudor era (1485–1603), a coat of arms was a unique design painted on a shield. Knights and noble families used coats of arms to show their heritage, social status and loyalty. Each coat of arms had specific symbols (colours, patterns and sometimes animals) which all had special meanings.

Immersion Day - 05/09/2025 - The children were introduced to our new topic, “Off With Their Heads!” which focuses on the Tudor era. They learned about the Houses of Lancaster and York, exploring their emblems and the history behind them. The children created beautiful Tudor roses using tissue paper, symbolising how the two houses came together in peace.
