Our learning this week

Monday 5th February - Friday 9th February

English

The children have continued to focus on the text 'The Last Wolf' by Mini Grey, where they have been using their imagination to plan a recipe for the Last Bear and have used their plans to write their recipes complete with 'what you need' list, a step by step of how to make the recipe using imperative verbs (bossy verbs) and a top tip.

Maths

Year 1

This week the children have continued to focus on using subtraction to find the difference between two numbers, how to use related facts when completing number sentences and how to solve missing number problems.

Year 2

This week the children have been focussing on multiplication and division, where they have learnt how to identify/make equal groups, how to share an amount equally between a set amount of groups and how to write number sentences to represent their findings using the division symbol. As well as practising their 2, 5 , 3 and 10 times tables.

Science

The children have continued their learning of living things, where they have learnt what the term 'food chain' means, and how it works and used images of living things to create their own food chain (that includes a predator, prey and producer).

Computing

This week the children have enjoyed using the laptops and exploring the different features of the Paint Programme, to create a digital painting of a Spring tree, inspired by the work of David Hockney.

RE

The children have concluded their learning of Judaism this week, where they considered the key question 'What do Jewish people believe about God?' The children also spent time thinking about what they had learnt about the Jewish religion over the last half term.
