Our learning this week:

This Week in English
This week, we combined our Geography knowledge with our English skills by planning and creating informative fact booklets all about Madagascar. The students explored a range of topics, from the island's location and local cuisine to the fascinating wildlife that calls Madagascar home. 

This Week in Maths
This week, we began our new topic on statistics. The children have been learning how to record and interpret data using a variety of methods, including tally charts, tables, and pictograms. To make learning fun and meaningful, we gathered data from our own class on favourite foods, animals, and whether or not we have pets!

This Week in History
This week, we began exploring the life of a significant figure in history — Sir David Attenborough. We learned about his childhood and what life was like for him growing up, then compared his experiences to our own today. The children enjoyed sequencing key events from his life in chronological order and had thoughtful discussions about which moments they felt were the most important. We’re all looking forward to discovering more about this incredible man and the impact he has made on the world around us.

Year 6 Takeover Day
We ended the week on a high with our exciting Year 6 Takeover Day! The children had a fantastic time learning all about the signs of summer and how to stay safe in the sun. It was such a fun and memorable experience being taught by our brilliant Year 6s — we’ve loved having them lead our learning today!
