Our learning this week:

Maths

This week in Year 2 maths, we have been exploring 2D and 3D shapes, learning about their properties. We also had fun creating 3D shapes and drawing 2D shapes. We're excited to continue our learning about shapes next week!

English

This week in our English lessons, we began writing letters to Father Christmas, focusing on using conjunctions and ambitious adjectives. We are turning our letters into books titled Dear Father Christmas. After planning the things we'd like, we've started writing in our books, making sure to use our phonics knowledge for correct spelling, punctuate properly, and write in cursive handwriting. We’re excited to finish our books next week and share them with our friends!

Topic

In art this week, we added the final touches to our Braking wave paintings inspired by Claude Monet. We used the stippling technique to add clouds and waves, and the results look fantastic! The pictures are now displayed in the photo gallery for you to admire.

his week in computing, we started learning how to use algorithms for programming. We've been using an app called Scratch, and so far, we've learned how to move our sprite around the screen, set start and end points, and change the background. We're excited to explore more with this app next week!

PE 

Our sports for this term are Netball and Gymnastics. (Monday and Wednesday)
