Morning Snack Reminder
A gentle reminder that children’s morning snacks should be healthy snacks only. Please do not send chocolate, cakes, sweets, or crisps for morning snack time.
Fruit snacks are provided for all KS1 children each day.
Thank you for your support.
* Important notice*
We would like to kindly remind parents that the school car park is reserved for authorised staff and visitors who have received prior permission from Mrs Bourner. We have had a number of near misses recently caused by cars pulling into the entrance of the school car park to drop off and then pulling out again onto the A4. The A4 is a very busy road, it is important to set a good example to the children so please park sensibly and walk over the footbridge. There is plenty of parking at the village hall and it is only a short 1-2 minute walk from kiss and drop. Thank you.
Year 2 Weekly Update
This Week in Year 2
This week in English, our focus has been on oracy as we prepared for our school production of Oliver!. We worked incredibly hard to learn all of the songs and perfect our dance routines. We hope you enjoyed watching our performance as much as we enjoyed putting it on!
In Maths, we finished our topic on Position and Direction. We had lots of fun playing games where we gave and followed directions to help each other reach different destinations, putting our new learning into practice.
We also completed our DT topic by creating a model village of our local community, Knowl Hill. We thoroughly enjoyed designing and constructing our buildings, from a model of our school and the local shop to the bridge that many of us use every day on our journey to school. It was fantastic to see all of our hard work come together.
We are all very excited for Transition Week next week, when we will spend time in our new classrooms and begin preparing for the next stage of our learning. As I am fortunate enough to be moving up with Year 2, we will explore what to expect in Year 3, talk about any worries we may have, and look ahead to the exciting opportunities the new school year will bring. We are looking forward to taking part in lots of fun activities together.
