Year 2 Weekly Update

This Week in Class

In English, we completed our Jolly Postman books, following his journey all the way to the end as he returned home after a busy day delivering letters. We are very excited to share our wonderful stories with the Foundation class next week!

In Maths, we finished our topic on addition and subtraction. Mrs D will continue to check our understanding in our daily 5-a-day to help us keep these important skills fresh. We are also looking forward to beginning our new topic on shape next week.

In History, we started exploring our exciting new unit on The Great Fire of London. The children are already very engaged, and we can’t wait to dive deeper into life in London in 1666 during our workshop next week.

In Science, we revisited last week’s experiment and wrote our conclusions, thinking carefully about waterproof materials and which would be best for making a coat to keep Little Red Riding Hood warm and dry.

In PE, we continued developing our balancing and jumping techniques in gymnastics. We also explored high and low ways of travelling and even created our own routines using these skills.
