Year 2 Weekly Update

This Week in Class

Well done to all the children for their wonderful Christingle service this morning—they were amazing, and I am incredibly proud of them. Thank you to everyone who came along to watch. We hope the Christingles made it home in one piece!

In English, we completed our Stick Man journey, finishing with his safe return home to the family tree.

In Maths, we wrapped up our topic on shapes. The children showed a strong understanding of different shapes and their properties.

In Music, we learned the song On Pudding Lane and had great fun using percussion instruments to create sound effects such as fire crackling, water splashing, and houses falling down. Each group added their own creative twist, and the performances were a joy to watch.

In Science, we concluded our topic on materials. We explored how different materials are made and were fascinated to learn that glass comes from sand and metal is made from rocks.

We’re looking forward to the final week of term and all the festive activities planned for Christmas week!
